COSMI (CENTRE FOR THE SOCIAL AND EMPLOYMENT ORIENTATION FOR IMMIGRANT WOMEN) undertakes individualised, progressive and gradual employment insertion for immigrant women with special difficulties in obtaining it by themselves.
The project and its personnel also carefully monitor each user to check whether the actions planned are being carried out since often it is the user who has to put them under way herself.
In line with the above, the project treats each case with different actions, attending to the measures adopted in each case, whether training, courses of Spanish for immigrants who do not speak Spanish, accompaniment when searching for employment, personal arrangement of job interviews, solving family problems that prevent employment insertion with the relevant social services, searching for employment that matches specific hours or solving legal questions that prevent employment insertion.
Personalised treatment and detailed analysis of the personal, family and social conditions are keys to solving the difficulties encountered by this type of women when searching for employment.
As a centre specialising in employment insertion and with the accumulated experience of our work, the conclusion has been reached that certain profiles of immigrant women searching for employment must be handled with special dedication and specific treatment to achieve inclusion in the employment world. Language, lack of suitable training, age, lack of knowledge of employment and social regulations applicable in the society in which they live, family duties, matrimonial problems, among others, are some of the aspects that mean that many immigrant women need special dedication in their search for employment.
