2. What were the core issues identified in your event as they relate to the theme and sub-themes of WUFIII? Housing is a critical part of achieving sustainability. Houses are not only a place to live, but also use precious land and energy to build and operate. The Super E program attempts to address some of the environmental challenges caused by buildings. |
3. What were the main points raised by panellists and participants in relation to these different issues? What new ideas have been generated as a result of the discussion? Audience liked the idea of bringing the best ideas from two countries to design better, more energy efficient and healthy houses. There were many questions on the technical aspects of Super E, like the building envelope design and mechanical systems, the energy cost savings, and ways of improving the Super E program. The idea of a public/private partnership model like Super E appealed to the audience. |
4. What process steps have been identified in your event that could help turn ideas into operational reality? Some people in audience said they will further explore the Super E program and approach to see if it can be adapted to their country. |
