The new permanent representatives of Botswana and Kuwait on Monday presented their credentials to the UN-HABITAT Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka.
Receiving credentials from Mr. Charles T. Mogotsi of Botswana, Mrs. Tibaijuka briefed him on the activities of UN-HABITAT in his country. She stated that the agency works in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity in Botswana; and the Cooperation for Research, Development and Education, which helps marginalized groups in rural and urban areas to improve their social and economic bargaining power within the society.
In her briefing with the envoy from Kuwait, Mr. Ahmad Bader Mahmoud Al-Razouqi, the Executive Director appealed to his country to support the Palestinian Trust Fund.
Mrs. Tibaijuka commended both envoys on their appointments and wished them successful tenure.
