Background and Objectives:
The continuous growth and development of Bogotá presents several challenges, especially in the consolidation of the decentralization processes and participatory governance.
Some improvements have been achieved in the development of new structures to manage the city, however several limitations persist, such as lack of a better definition of the competencies of municipal units; the need for strengthening the role of district (sub-municipal) offices; and administrative delays created by the legal and normative framework, among others.
The objective is to design and apply improved management instruments and processes in the areas of citizen security, social cohesion, strengthening the decentralization of municipal management and citizen participation.
The main activities include:
Designing and implementing a local security manager’s training programme.
Completing documents for a policy for the local justice system in Bogotá.
