UN-HABITAT last week hosted representatives from a group of European countries to discuss possible support for housing and urban management issues.
A meeting jointly chaired by the Polish Minister of Construction, Mr. Andrzej Aumiller, and the Romanian Minister of Development, Public Works and Housing, Mr. Laszlo Borbely, with other representatives from eastern, southern and central Europe discussed housing finance and ways of improving the energy efficiency of large apartment blocks.
They also examined ways of putting European Union financing to its best use in new housing and sustainable urban development. |
