UN Pavilion Commissioner-General, Mr. Awni Behnam with Mr. Kiyotaka Akasaka
The Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information (DPI), Mr. Kiyotaka Akasaka, has announced that the annual meeting of the United Nations Communication Group (UNCG) will be held in Shanghai at the Expo 2010 United Nations Pavilion in June next year.
The announcement in Bangkok last month was welcomed by Mr. Awni Behnam, UN Pavilion Commissioner-General: "There is no greater synergy than hosting the UNCG, the common communications and public information platform of the United Nations, in our One UN pavilion. We welcome the UNCG with open doors and look forward to its participation at the Expo.”
The UNCG is an annual gathering of officials in charge of communications and public relations representing all UN bodies.
