| 500,000th visitor welcomed to the UN Pavilion |
The United Nations welcomed visitor number 500,000 to its pavilion this morning. The UN Pavilion Commissioner General Awni Behnam, UN Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information Kiyo Akasaka and Deputy UN Pavilion Director Jianguo Shen awarded the lucky visitor from Guangxi Liuzhou certificates and prizes.
The UN Pavilion is expected to welcome its 1 millionth and 2 millionth visitors during the next few months of the Shanghai World Expo. All lucky winners will be awarded prizes mementos from the occasion and invited to attend the UN Day on 24 October 2010. |
