Mrs. Tibaijuka is attending the Governing Council in her capacity as Tanzanian Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements. The meeting provided an opportunity for them to deliberate on the future direction of UN-HABITAT.
Delegates from around the world are converging at the United Nations Headquarters in Nairobi for UN-HABITAT's 23rd Governing Council, a five-day meeting which is held every two years to examine the agency's work and relationships with its partners. It is a high-level forum at which policy guidelines and the organization's budget are established for the next two-year period. |
