Developing the Global Urban Research Network
As part of the "Research" pillar of the Habitat Partner University initiative, UN-HABITAT has commissioned a feasibility study aiming to further define the requirements of such a network. As the inception report puts it "Alliances between policy-oriented global institutions such as UN-HABITAT, expert groups, research centers and universities can help bridge the gap between research and policy. The consolidation of an international network of urban research institutions complementing other activities of UN-HABITAT's partner universities should become a breeding ground for innovative concepts and treasure of knowledge in this business. Our vision is that of a global think tank on urban research innovation."
