The Training sessions at the World Urban Forum are very popular events attracting participants from all walks of life and countries. The sessions are led by different partners / institutions, well-known for their educational, training and research works. Each Training event will focus on a particular theme and are practical, problem-solving oriented and intensive in nature. They provide an essential "how to" approach to development challenges with latest innovative tools, methodologies, instruments and package of knowledge to support implementation.
The Training events relate to the main theme of the WUF as outlined in the concept paper and distilled into the 6 subthemes. They provide some responses to the problem of increasing inequalities in cities and develop skills and knowledge of the participants to enable them to address the challenges of bringing together policies, programmes, projects and strategies that tackle different dimensions of urban inequality.
The Training events will be held during the Forum on 9, 10 and 11 of April 2014 and cater for a maximum of 50 participants per course and will last up to 3 hours (8:30 - 11:30). Participants will have the opportunity to register online free of charge.
Submission of online application for Training events took place between 9 September 2013 - 20 November 2013. Applications received within the deadline will be vetted by a selection panel and event organizers shall be informed of the outcome from 4 December 2013 onwards.
