UN staff launch charity drive for millions starving in Kenya
	Nairobi, Kenya, 9 Feb 09 The United Nations headquarters in Kenya on Monday launched a charity drive to help millions of people facing starvation in their host country.


Pamela Mboya, former Kenyan permanent representative dies
	Nairobi,, 29 Jan 09 Mrs. Pamela Mboya, who served as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to Representative to UN-HABITAT in the late 1980s, died on Monday night while undergoing treatment at a South African hospital. On receiving the news of the death of the 70 year old former diplomat, UN-HABITAT Executive Director Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka expressed her shock and praised Mrs. Mboya for her commitment to the agency.

Peter Swan: Remembering a valued colleague
	Nairobi, Kenya, 1 Dec 08 UN-HABITAT regrets to announce the passing of Mr. Peter Swan. An Australian national born in 1946, he suffered a heart attack at his adoptive home in Bangkok, Thailand on 23 November, 2008. Mr. Swan joined the agency in 1989 as officer in charge of its information division. During this period he was responsible for all video presentations at the Habitat II ‘City Summit’ in Istanbul.From 1995 to 1998 he served in Bangkok, as Coordinator of the Community Development Programme for Asia, before assuming responsibility for UN-HABITAT’s Cambodia programme in Phnom Penh.
