Zambian city of Ndola hosts UH-HABITAT’s water training programme

The second phase of UN-HABITAT’s Values-based Water and Sanitation Education programme is now underway in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia following a Water for African Cities training workshop in the Zambian Copper Belt city of Ndola.

ASEAN endorses value-based water education

Education ministers from the 10 countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this week agreed to start a seed fund through the Asian Development Bank to begin implementation of UN-HABITAT’s Value-Based Water Education programme.
Norway contributes over $1 million to UN-HABITAT's Water and Sanitation Trust Fund.

Canada pledges new funding for UN-HABITAT’s Water and Sanitation Programme in Africa

The Canadian Minister of International Cooperation, Ms. Susan Whelan today signed a memorandum on behalf of the Canada Fund for Africa of the Canadian International Development Agency committing over US$10 million (15 million Canadian dollars) to UN-HABITAT's Water and Sanitation Trust Fund. She congratulated UN-HABITAT for the success of the first part of the Water for African Cities programme.
