The Kenyan Hip Hop superstar and UN-HABITAT Messenger of Truth Gidi Gidi last week teamed up with Rolf Stahlhofen of Germany, Samsaya representing Norway and India, and Lam of Sudan to give the German city of Mannheim a rousing concert organized by UN-HABITAT in cooperation with its private sector partner, the German chemical giant BASF, the Popakademie – Baden-Wuerttemberg, and the City of Mannheim.

Officials from the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Royal Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development (KRD) this week held talks with UN-HABITAT's Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka to discuss the renewal of a Programme Cooperation Agreement between the Norwegian Government and UN-HABITAT for the period 2008-2009.
