UN-HABITAT granted Observer Status by the ACP Group

UN-HABITAT has been granted observer status to the institutions of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific Group of States (ACP Group). The decision, which takes effect from 1 December 2004, was taken at the 80th Session of the ACP Council of Ministers held in Brussels, Belgium, from 29 November to 3 December 2004.
Civil society groups from East and Horn of Africa to meet in Nairobi

Norwegian premier visits UN-HABITAT, signs landmark agreement

A high-powered Norwegian delegation led by Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik visited UN-HABITAT headquarters on Tuesday and signed a Framework Agreement with the Executive Director Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka aimed at improving the lives of slum dwellers and urban poor.
