Five UN-Habitat schools completed a year ago in the Somali capital Mogadishu are today serving some 2,000 internally displaced children in five neighbourhoods thanks to Swedish funding and UNICEF backing.

UN-Habitat is conducting training sessions on Housing Land and Property Rights in Pakistan for women lawyers at 11 different cities. The first one-day session was held in Islamabad on 1st June, 2012 in which 30 female lawyers have been invited to participate.

As the clock ticks towards the opening of the sixth World Urban Forum in Naples, registration is ongoing and expectations are high that the turnout will be good. Organised jointly by UN-Habitat, the Government of Italy, the Campania Region and the City of Naples, the theme for this year's meeting is The Urban Future. Over 3,000 participants from 114 countries have already registered for the premier conference on cities and urban issues.
