Turkish premier wins Rafik Hariri Memorial Award

TURKISH Prime Minister, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the winner of the inaugural Rafik Hariri-UN-HABITAT Memorial Award for his “excellent achievement and commendable conduct in the areas of leadership, statesmanship and good governance”. The Award will be presented at the Forum.

Many people are asking when the final programme of Networking Events will be announced. It will be published shortly on the Forum website.

A rich programme of events

The Forum programme features an exciting array of events for urban all actors. There is something for everyone; over 150 networking events, 24 training events, 12 peer-roundtables, six dialogues and thematic open debates, special sessions on topical subjects, launches, seminars, and much more. For youth and women, there is the World Urban Youth and the Gender Equality Action Assemblies. The Exhibition, which has attracted a record number of exhibitors, will be open not only to participants but also to the general public. We hope to see you in Rio.

Transport at the Forum

World Urban Forum participants will get a free metro pass when they register at the Forum giving them a chance to enjoy the city and its many attractions during the week of the Forum after the meetings.
