This report provides an overview of the importance of Water Demand Management (WMD) in South Africa. It highlights the significance of improving water use efficiency in the Vaal River System. It concludes with a summary of how various pilot projects are being investigated with a determination to achieve possible savings through selected WMD and also to find best practice methods for undertaking such projects.
