This publication highlights the importance of introducing education in schools and communities of how to effectively manage the use of water in African cities. This is the work of the "The Expert-group Meeting , held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in May 2001 that brought together international and Regional experts on water education, curriculum development and urban water resources management to develop a broad consensus on the most effective strategy for introducing water education in African cities.
