The present Guidelines have been formulated to assist all those involved in UN-HABITAT Programming to ensure that the Environmental Assessment considerations are intergrated into UN-HABITAT Projects and Programme Cycle Management and to ascertain the potential environmental consequences are foreseen and addressed early in all UN-HABITAT Projects so that results can influence project design and provide support to decision makers and to improve future project performance by analysing how the environment has been affected by implemented projects and lessons learned fed into future project design.
