Cities share common crises which endanger the sustainability of our habitat. This programme looks at the lives of ordinary families and describes the deteriorating urban environment in Chennai (India), Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania), Katowice (Poland) and Shenyang (China). The programme also shows how the UNCHS/UNEP Sustainable Cities Programme is helping improve the urban environment.
